X : Do you think remaining in EU is better than this withdrawal agreement?
Me : Anyone with any sense does. The agreement is atrocious from sovereignty to industrial policy. Having read and gone through it several times, I'd be hard pressed to find anything good to say ...
... oh, and from a national competition and economic point of view, it's absolutely in the interest of the EC for the UK to go into the backstop arrangement and stay there.
X : So you think UK should remain?
Me : No, I think we should leave with no deal. Of course, I'd be happy with an EEA docked to EFTA like arrangement instead as I view that at as reasonable compromise. But this agreement, I struggle with that. I find little of merit.
X : What about a #PeoplesVote ?
Me : I wanted to cancel holding the first referendum - - I'm certainly not going to agree with Parliament shirking its duty again. Parliament is sovereign, it needs to decide and then face any displeasure at an election.
