4. When I was 17 I visited Israel with my parents. I left them at the hotel in Netanya and took the bus to Haifa to meet an Israeli girl I had met in summer school. I stayed in her home for the two weeks. I fell in love with her and in turn Israel.
5.The girl did not last but my love for Israel did till this day. I have been a grass roots diaspora activist for Israel since those heady days, and while life’s journey - family and work has precluded my final ‘ going up ‘ Aliyah my love still burns
