George Bush was a bad person who did bad things. Reject liberal nostalgia for Republican daddies of the past and look at his record.

Bush was an elite who rode his connections all the way to the Oval Office. His political career started on racebaiting the lone white southern liberal over civil rights. He hired Lee Atwater. He appointed Clarence Thomas. He chose Dan Quayle. He expanded the War on Drugs.
Bush probably knew EVERYTHING about Iran-Contra, wasn't properly investigated, and then pardoned everyone convicted of crimes. This would make Donald Trump proud.
What are the chances that it wasn't til his mid-80s that Bush started feeling up young women and making jokes about it? Low.
Bush twice vetoed the Civil Rights Act of 1990, a fitting move for a guy who began his career as an open race-baiter.
Bush pushed the US to the right. His nomination of Clarence Thomas, his pushing Dan Quayle on the national scene, his Lee Atwater ad, the War on Drugs, naming Dick Cheney Secretary of Defense, and leaving Iraqi rebels out to dry—these are very bad no good things. Remember them!
