Bill Kristol tried rebranding effort as the preeminent right-leaning periodical for conservatives opposed to President Donald Trump. That is exactly what killed Weekly Standard. Bill Kristol as usual was wrong. Wrong about the election, wrong that being anti Trump would help him.
OH, and Bill Kristol is so wrong he doesn't understand that losing so many subscribers doesn't mean you actually have a shot at the presidency in 2020. Kristol is considering a 2020 run and can't keep enough subscribers to keep the Weekly Standard afloat.

Secretary of Defense Mattis leaving is not the end of the world as the media makes it out to be. While I have respect for Mattis he's not the only person qualified for the job.
Every administration has its stars, and those stars often leave after about 2-3 years and often that's shortly after a midterm election or a presidential election. I think some of the friction that resulted in Mattis leaving was probably applied through John Bolton.
Mattis is an old guard type and believes in long term troop presence even after objectives have been met.

Comey also stated, "all other cases that were prosecuted involved intentional/willful mishandling of information. How does Comey think that classified information ended up on a private server? That IS willful intent because it has to be physically removed from systems.
