Former Canadian PM Brian Mulroney, a friend of Bush, has begun his eulogy. He says that in the history of the world's greatest democratic republic, no president has been “more courageous, more principled and more honourable than George Herbert Walker Bush.”
NAFTA shoutout: Mulroney, who negotiated the agreement with Bush, says Bush's agreement “created the largest and richest free trade area in the history of the world." Also hails him for the Americans with Disabilities Act and the acid rain treaty.
Mulroney says that when Bush was president, every other world leader knew they were dealing with a "genuine leader," one who was “distinguished, resolute and brave.”
