Scrap MRT2 and LRT3.Use the money to

1)Build Bus Rapid Transit Networks
2)Bridge Funding for Affordable Housing
3)Enhancing Digital Govt
4)Big Push on Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Mgmt..Green New Deal

Just some ideas...
Need more funding for job creation?

~scrutinise and re-negotiate PFI deals including the 6 UITMs,2 Hospitals and a lot more...

If they don't play ball...impose taxes on extraordinary profits.
Still not enuff jobs?

Send home 500K foreign workers in sectors other than plantations,special skills not available here and 3D workers.

Hard but necessary decisions
Jobs shud be created covering the whole of the country...not concentrated in KL.
Projects shud be bite-size to give greater opportunities to SMEs rather than the Big Boys only.And pls don't dream of "trickle down"~ give the jobs directly to the SMEs and freelancers/self-employed
BRT gives opportunities to SME.Can break up into smaller packages~work itself is not difficult.
Also...create opportunities for local fabricators.
And for the operations~many smaller bus operators under Bus Contracting Packages.

Much lower leakages and imports than MRT
Enhancing Digital Govt...many simple opportunities eg better Gov websites and data (Rail & Bus ridership on monthly from current quarterly).
I am certain there's lots that can be done.
Another opportunity is to bring jobs to smaller towns.If India can be the back office of the World..why can't our smaller towns be Govt/GLC back-office?
2000 Jobs transferred to Dungun creates a lot of spillover.And the transferred employees will hv lower cost of living

What do I wish for Malaysia in 2019?

More jobs,better wages & an affordable cost of living for all especially on mobility and housing.

Affordable Mobility is not needing a car in order to lead a productive life.
Affordable Housing only possible when there is Affordable Mobility
It is all very good to wish for something.But without proper allocation of resources,it will end up as a dream.

The first hurdle is to raise enuff funding for the programs.
Once the funding plan (how to pay debt) is agreed,Govt can borrow and invest on the programs immediately.
What are the new Funding Sources for these Future-forward Objectives?My suggestions;

1)Capital Gains to be recognised as incomes
2)More progressive taxes up to a ceiling of 50% for the Top 1%
3)Fuel tax of RM2 per liter

Additional tax revenue of RM70B/year ie RM700B war chest

Let's talk Retirement Planning.
Say ur 30 years old and will be retiring in 35 years time at 65 years.
You will have probably 22 years of "retirement" to fund.

Question: How much savings do you need to survive the 22 years of retirement?
Before the Arithmetics~have a guess.
Let's say you want an income equivalent to a current day RM1,000 per month during your retirement.
With inflation...in 35 years,when you retire RM1K today will be RM3K.And at the end of the 20 years of retirement~RM5K.

So on average u need savings of about RM1,000,000.
If you wish to retire with more money..u can just multiply the RM1mil with the desired income.
Thus...if u want to hv same lifestyle as an income of RM5K today...pls save more to accumulate an RM5,000,000 savings.

I am still trying to understand TH financial engineering;

The current state is;

Good Assets RM57B
Not so good Assets RM10B
Impaired Assets (RM10B)
Nett Assets RM67B
Depositors Funds RM77B
(Note: liabilities ignored..not big)
Thus...Nett Assets is less than Depositors Funds...so can't give bonus lah.
Solution:
Sell RM20B of the "not so good assets&impaired assets" to SPV.In return dapat IOU~

Sukuks RM10B(7 years maturity with 5%/annum profit...not sure given annually or on maturity
Some fancy papers tak ingat nama.. RM10B with no income and no maturity date.

After the swop,TH balance sheet looks like this~

Good Assets ........RM57B
IOUs from SPV.......RM20B
Total.......................RM77B
Depositors Fund....RM77B
Voila~now can give bonus

1 - To cut #energy consumption
2 - To turn away from #fossilfuels
3 - To diversify its #energy mix

The overall target of France's strategy for #energy and #climate is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 through cutting GHG emissions down significantly and also increasing carbon sinks
France wants to cut #CO2 emissions down to 227 Mt in 10 years by cutting final #energy consumption 14% and primary #energy from #fossilfuels by 35%. Also, increasing #renewable heating and doubling the #electricity from renewables. Note: transport emissions vanish by 2050.

Ok, it's official folks. Roger Harrabin, @RHarrabin, the @BBC's environmental analyst, is not fit to hold his job of trust with the public broadcaster. He doesn't understand the science, the policy, the politics or his own responsible role as a communicator. Buckle up: thread 1/
1) the UK is not on track for cutting 80% of emissions by 2050. That distant goal has been treated as an excuse to do not much right now by successive govts. The current govt in particular has cut measures which could get us there - and those were insufficient to start with. 2/
2) the current science says (do you READ IPCC reports, @RHarrabin ? Here's a link ipcc.ch/report/sr15/) that we need to reduce emissions drastically and immediately, not by 2050. Our situation is more urgent than it was decades ago. Please do keep up. 3/

1) There’s a lot of BS about @nntaleb’s Black Swan, antifragility & skin in da game. Let’s take the gloves off and get into trouble.
2) When the Swan flew out, it was immediately butchered by imbeciles not understanding that you can’t predict the unpredictable.

That is the point – and an IQ filter NNT himself proly did not expect.
3) In any complex domain – life! – the Blackest Swan is always skulking around the corner. You know it’s coming, but you don’t know what where when. You can't tame what you've never even conceived of.
