More than that though, #Brexit is about who we are as people & country: do we celebrate diversity and internationality, or do we hide away from the wider world, alone behind a wall? 2/10
May's witch-hunt against non-UK citizens (which started while she was in the HO where she implemented the #HostileEnvironment) is inexcusable and misguided. It needlessly constricted her negotiation space with the EU, resulting in the damaging deal currently on the table. 3/10

I've spent the last 2.5 years in a horrible place and no, I'm not talking about Birmingham - in fact, I love where I live, in the place many seem to fear most, a truly multicultural neighbourhood, it's part of why I fight so hard.

We voted Remain btw
When the referendum came I wasn't paying attention to the world, I was just hanging out with my 3yo child, who was going to start school that autumn.
It was our last Spring of hanging out together.
I read around all the arguments for Leave but in my view the EU is not our enemy
In fact, my experience of the EU has been very positive as previously I worked in Home & Child Safety promotion and before that set up a small business in event services with the help of EU regional development funds.
Plus I have lived in Germany, my friends & family are European

Take this for example, ditch #EU regulation and replace it in order to reach a trade deal with the US. They will have us for breakfast, forcing further deregulation and acceptance of harmful agri-products. Industry don’t necessarily want it and in services they will squeeze us./2
This; how, what and when? @DavidDavisMP has been Secretary of State for 2 years and hasn’t come up with any substantial and viable proposals, as the technology doesn’t exist. Neither has he strongly engaged with the #EU27 to work this out due to lack of internal HMG agreement. /3

This is gonna be long, but I think it's worth it. A well-regarded twitter poster, let’s call him Giorgio, has recently publish a thread stating among other things as follows. “The pathways to stopping or delaying Brexit are blocked.
But once the mandate is discharged, the pathways to UK rejoining, or being in a close association agreement with EU, within the single market and customs union, will be open, with no obstacles.”
This approach annoys me for two reasons, one because Giorgio seems to be attempting to cajole Remainers to put all activity on hold until we actually leave the #EU.

I am going to start a thread. Quite a few people have asked me why I voted to leave the EU. Although I don't feel like I have to explain myself there are a couple of things I think people fail to acknowledge about the #Brexit vote.
Over 30% of Labour voters voted to leave and about 20% of Green party voters did the same. Not all leave voters are UKIP or even remotely right wing. I am a Labour voter and sit firmly on the left of the political spectrum. #Brexit
Nobody knew what would happen if we voted to leave the EU. There was so much nonsense, from both sides, that it was virtually impossible to be "well informed" about #Brexit
