1/ In principle, I agree there's an obvious distinction between publishing something and agreeing with it. After all, on a much smaller scale, I sometimes publish blog posts I disagree with. However, I think there broader principles at stake if an article normalises neo-Nazis.
2/ Let's be clear about what we're dealing with. Here are senior folks from the political party which a Spectator columnist expressed sympathy for.

I don't like calling people neo-Nazis, but if the swastikas and salutes fit...

1/ This is an untenable argument. The withdrawal agreement will retain current EU law in this field during the transition period, including UK opt out from new EU policing laws, with the right for the UK to refuse participation in new EU foreign policy and defence laws.
2/ Here's the view of the Metropolitan Police, the National Crime Agency & the Crown Prosecution Service - all of whom saw a no deal outcome as a problem. No one giving evidence to the @LordsEUCom inquiry said the withdrawal agreement is a security threat: publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld201719/ld…
3/ Here's the letter from Dearlove & Guthrie. It contains no substantive argument at all. The phrase "new, deep and special relationship" doesn't appear in the withdrawal agreement or political declaration. They would not bind the UK to any security arrangements post transition.

Meanwhile, courts have further extended P Chidambaram's protection from arrest in one of the massive financial scams in which he is allegedly involved. Clearly, for him 'jail is not the safest place'.
It is a week since Abhijit Iyer-Mitra was arrested for satire. He is still in jail. In this wondrous democracy of ours, #FreeSpeech fetches jail. Criminals and offenders are extended bail or, even better, protection from arrest. We are all complicit in this travesty of justice.

Morning campers! I’ll be live-tweeting from the European Court of Justice today about @Google’s “Right to be Forgotten” hearing.

What’s the main point? Should Europe (or France’s #privacy regulator) be able to apply its rules over the internet worldwide.

A recap:
La Vanguardia, a Spanish newspaper, published records in the late 1990s detailing the debt delinquencies of Mario Costeja.

About a decade later, Costeja sued, saying that the publication breached his right to privacy.
After a lengthy legal dispute, the case was referred to the ECJ which, in 2014, ruled that individuals had the right to ask that search engines like @Google remove links (but not the underlying webpages) from search results

UCC had opportunity to comment on the #Data.Protection & Privacy Bill. The enactment of this law is long overdue. A comprehensive law on the collection & processing personal information gives effect to the right to Privacy envisaged under Article 27(2) of the Constitution
UCC welcome the protections offered by the Bill in terms of export of data, breach notification requirements, data subjects access rights, automated decision making, compensation and the right to be forgotten and provision for financial and penal sanctions for breach of the law.
Distinction between Data collectors & data controllers.
The Bill should however clarify & distinguish Data Collectors, from Data Processors & Data Controllers. Clause 2 is inconsistent with international good practice which provides for two broad categories of Data Controllers
