1/6 Emails shows #Monsanto orchestrated a behind the scenes retraction of Seralini's paper on #GMOs.

David Saltimiras w/ #Monsanto started "the last rites of Seralini" with an email to Sir Colin Berry.

@NaomiOreskes @sejorg @TimothyAWise @industrydocs @sfoucart @fastlerner 2/6 The campaign to get the paper retracted ran for months. Saltimiras then writes his #Monsanto colleagues that the journal editor can't do anything w/ blog and web postings and needs "formal letters to the Editor."

Guess what Monsanto did? Wild guess....
@NaomiOreskes @sejorg @TimothyAWise @industrydocs @sfoucart @fastlerner 3/6 BTW, let's pause for a moment to see how the "science media" covered this retraction.

Story at NBC news gives you a taste of the pile on against Seralini w/o any mention that this was a corporate orchestrated hit on a scientist. nbcnews.com/science/journa…
@NaomiOreskes @sejorg @TimothyAWise @industrydocs @sfoucart @fastlerner In case you're wondering what David Saltimiras does for #Monsanto, he ghostwrites studies. He writes to one scientist that this is the "fifth such #Glyphosate related manuscript I have been involved with over the past few years without co-authorship.
@NaomiOreskes @sejorg @TimothyAWise @industrydocs @sfoucart @fastlerner 5/6 During the retraction process against Seralini, #Monsanto's Eric Sachs makes sure people understand that Monsanto must remain hidden, even as they set the whole thing up.

"It is now time for the public sector and especially our network of experts to do theirs."
@NaomiOreskes @sejorg @TimothyAWise @industrydocs @sfoucart @fastlerner 6/6 David Saltimiras may not receive credit for ghostwriting papers on #glyphosate, but he still seeks credit in his annual report for facilitating "third party expert letters to the editor" on the Seralini papers.

And he peer reviews papers accept/reject that favor Monsanto
@NaomiOreskes @sejorg @TimothyAWise @industrydocs @sfoucart @fastlerner If you want to read more, here is the expert report that discusses these emails.

My understanding is that Monsanto is trying to get this information excluded so that the jury won't see it. usrtk.org/wp-content/upl…
