At the Richmond Hwy pop up, the line of federal employees picking up food this morning was more than 30 people deep and more were coming and going as I shopped.

This is not American greatness.

I would hate to burst anyone's bubble but the likelihood that *all* of those standing in line for food were only Democrats? Very low. So miss me with those patently ridiculous, ignorant statements. Your fellow *Americans* are now lining up for food assistance due to the shutdown.
History will not look kindly on this. And voters who had to hold their child's hand in a parking lot while they waited for food before a snowstorm? They will remember this.
I have lived with food insecurity. I remember every day.

The flow percentage is largely correct. But note this: last month, the bipartisan Congressional Research Service noted in its own updated study on heroin trafficking, drug traffickers transport the majority of their goods in trucks and cars thru legal ports of entry.

Trump notes the wall and the $5.7B for funding is what "our professionals want and need." This does not take into account those individuals who don't want the border. You know, non-professionals. Where is mention of their representation?

Well, a survey that was conducted only today found that 72 percent of those surveyed preferred the use of programs like E-Verify to help employers determine whether staff are working in the U.S. legally over more $$ for a border wall.

Full disclosure: It also helps if you're a reporter wearing your badge and you mention that you cover local courts for a national news org and would have no problem filing pro se if needed.

Actually the moral of the story is: if you're educated about local laws and rules, you get screwed over a lot less. So, keep following @CourthouseNews because we're giving the low down on legal news all over the U.S. You never know when something you read here may come in handy.

After a lifetime of dysphoria I finally had my surgery in April. Initially I was elated but the climate of hate that I've experienced since then, has had a pronounced negative effect on my mental health.
Day after day we are bombarded with negative stories and opinion pieces on
Trans people, on all media platforms. I dread going into work, wondering just what piece of bigotry my co workers have been exposed to that day, and this sense of dread has permeated all of my social interactions.
As a consequence of this I have become more and more withdrawn
and my suicide ideation has increased exponentially.
I write this as an adult: I have a lifetime of coping mechanisms to draw on, I "pass" and I'm confident in my gender identity: I'm not going to act on this ideation.

Some things that peeve me over at happycapricorn:
the “pick me” squad. People who comment on content like “this doesn’t apply to me.” Cool story, stranger. You have a whole ass birthchart. You aren’t one sign, you’re all of them and in a unique order. Look outside yourself.
The “does this apply to suns, moons, or risings” squad. Signs are just that - signs. I’m commenting on a constellation and it’s archetype, not every person with that sun sign. People have whole ass birth charts - we are all always all signs, never just one. Don’t be so literal.
The egocentric-style naivety. These folks pop up when I discuss the more unpleasant expression of a sign, like how some Cancers can be hell on a horse about certain things and they respond like “no :( we are children of god who only protect and nurture UWU” ur not an angel, babe.
