Feinstein asks again about what will be revealed to the public in the Mueller report. Will Barr provide Mueller's report *in addition to* the summary the AG is required by law to create?
Barr, again, is saying that there is some flexibility/discretion that can be used by an AG but his objective end goal is to get as much as the information as he can to Congress and the public.
"These are departmental regulations. I'll be talking to Rosenstein and Mueller. There's probably existing thinking in the department but all I can say at this stage is I will try and get the information out there consistent w/these regulations & to the extent I have discretion...
"I'll exercise the discretion to do that."

Moving on, Feinstein asks about his position on torture.
Torture is never lawful, Barr agrees. When Feinstein asks whether waterboarding is torture...
Barr hesitates to consider the legal technicality.
"You're talking about the legal definition? Right now its prohibited. But the law has definitively dealt with that.
After a bit of back/forth with Feinstein on whether its torture, they circle back to where they began.
As a general rule, torture, Barr agrees, is barbaric.

Manafort Update: Judge ABJ will not reschedule the Jan 25 hearing and Manafort's attys must respond to Muellers allegation re: plea deal breach by Jan 23 at 10AM.
From the minute entry: "Given the parties' shifting positions on what issues need to be resolved by the Court...
"..and at what point in the proceedings, the Court wishes to hear from them in person again to establish a plan for moving forward."
The judge continues: "But the parties should also come prepared to discuss the question of whether the material that has been submitted shows that the defendant intentionally provided false information in connection with any of the five subject matter areas that have been ID'ed..

Update re: Bijan Kian matter at the federal courthouse in VA - yesterday prosecutors filed a req. for 40 blank subpoenas or 20 sets (one for their party, one for the other) to be issued for trial. (Set for Feb 11) Who is being subpoenaed is unclear for now

1. @maddow said @NicolleDWallace had reported Whitaker was out of loop on #Mueller & Rod Rosenstein was in charge. I have believed that from second day when Rosenstein gave his response that he thought Whitaker was a "superb choice." As Whitaker's background was revealed
2. It became obviouse that Whitaker could never pass a classified background check let alone the Top Secret Compartmentalized Information level required for a major counter intelligence operation. Moreover, having had a close family memeber with a similar level DOJ job I believe
3. the people engaged in such top level counter intelligence work are under blue force surveillance. I would imagine Whitaker is just fine sitting on the fourth floor DOJ pretending he's the AG and wants nothing to do with Mueller and the dark place you are sent for espionage.

commissioned by conservative website @FreeBeacon! When Trump 'won' nomination @FreeBeacon stopped paying for it!
By this time, Steele had already discovered disturbing contacts between Trump camp & Russia! He was so concerned with what he had found so far, that he was OBLIGATED..
to notify US Intel & specifically the @FBI!
By this time, Trump had @PaulManafort & @GenFlyn on his campaign! Both had ties to & had worked with or taken money from Russia! Steele had also discovered PRIOR to this that Russia had been cultivating Trump for at least 5 years!...
