King was a man of God and should be remembered as such, but he doesn’t get credit for being a politician. He didn’t run for anything but he had as good a political mind as anyone.
The other thing about Dr. King that’s lost, I think, is he was not some kind of Buddha figure. He came with the olive branch and the sword and he wasn’t kidding.
I guess the last thing is that Dr. King rightly enough is thought of as a Biblical figure, almost out of time. He is 38 years old in that film.
