Roger Stone, longtime Trump adviser, was arrested in Florida on charges of lying to Congress, in the latest indictment from the Mueller investigation wsj.com/articles/infor… via @WSJ
Here are the various times Stone claimed contact with WikiLeaks: wsj.com/video/mueller-…
And here's the story we wrote about Stone seeking information from Assange via Credico. He never turned this exchange over to House Intel and told us that that's because it wasn't required of him: wsj.com/articles/roger…
We later learned that Mueller was probing Stone’s efforts to intimidate Randy Credico, who he named as his “backchannel” to WikiLeaks. This included planting stories about him in the press to “confirm” Stone’s narrative: wsj.com/articles/muell…
Here is one of the stories Stone was involved in drafting about Credico, btw. It also slams WSJ reporting. artvoice.com/2018/05/29/pho…
Stone also sent Credico a bunch of allegedly threatening text messages after he testified before House Intel. We reported on those back in May.

Stone was mad Credico was talking to the press. He says his messages weren’t threats, they were warnings not to lie.
This part of the indictment is important, because the timeline is everything. We've written about this in various stories.

Stone says his "backchannel" was Credico, but Mueller points out that Stone claimed contact with Assange after talking to Jerome Corsi (not Credico).
This is also very important. Mueller says Stone repeatedly told Credico to take the 5th and to go along with his allegedly false story.

Stone, for a long time, has pointed to Credico as a liar because he took the 5th.
So what about Corsi? Corsi told me today he acknowledges he's "Person 1" in the Stone indictment.

He says in July '16, he told Stone that Assange had Podesta's emails. And in August '16, he says he wrote a cover story for Stone's infamous Podesta tweet:

Corsi's lawyer said he has *not* heard from Mueller today.

But there is an interesting paragraph in the draft plea deal that Corsi rejected. It's wordy, but it seems to suggest that Corsi had a way of obtaining confidential information from WikiLeaks. (He maintains he did not.)
Corsi's stepson went before the grand jury yesterday. He's been asked if Corsi asked him to destroy evidence.

Corsi admits that he deleted emails & scrubbed a computer, but he insists he did nothing wrong. He says he offered that computer to Mueller team but they said no thx.
