... i.e. they both elevate importance of society over market, both agree that ownership of equity can be public, cooperative or individual citizen. Distinction is socialism tends to favour more public ownership. But you're splitting hairs between socialism and one nation.
... the extremes are marxism on one side and neoliberal on the other. Best to think of it like this.
A problem with UK politics are the two main parties are spread across those view, so it has often in the past been difficult to distinguish between them.
