Reviewing Changes and Currents Involved in #Libya
We will review four main currents:
1. Current which follows the Army(Marshal Haftar,#LNA)
2. Current which follows Government of National Accord,GNA
3. Tuareg & other tribes
4. ISIS & other terrorist groups

The secret hand of western intelligence services in scheming chaos and reinforcing terrorism in North #Africa; and also Libyans themselves stirring up ethnic and political disputes cause the #Libya crisis still remain unsolved even in post-Gaddafi conditions.
Tribes like #Tuareg, #Tabu, #Amazighs, and … which have a significant role in the North #Africa’s developments; are weak at maintaining stability with other tribes or governments and become suppressed by the armies of other countries of this region.
Also, through these disputes and instability of governments, Intellectual #Salafi talent which has deep roots in Libya has this chance to find a hang-out in deserts, though it is not like Iraq and Syria.

#Libya While all eyes were focusing on Tripoli over the past two weeks due to militia clashes, ceasefires and yesterday's terrorist attack on the NOC, the LNA was tacitly preparing for a military escalation in central and south-western Libya, with immense potential ramifications
The instability in Tripoli served Haftar in several ways: 1) By highlighting the weakness of Serraj's GNA/PC and compounding shortages in water & electricity etc. the instability in Tripoli eroded what little popular support remained for a GNA/PC leadership despised by Haftar
2) The attack on Tripoli started by the Kani Brigade created a new push for political and fiscal reforms of the GNA similar to those Haftar demanded after the oil terminal stand-off ended in July but which since then lost momentum in August as the GNA and the Central Bank stalled

1/ I spent 3 weeks in east #Libya.

We were 1st foreign journalists to enter Derna after Libyan army began operation to clear city from ISIS, AlQaeda etc.

Army now controls large parts of Derna but extremists still in old city.

We took drone with us.

2/ Happy to be safe after 3 weeks in east Libya. Difficult area to reach.

I met great people in Benghazi. Thank u all for keeping me safe &helping me get great stories.

I'll update this Derna-thread in English later today. But 1st let me call my mom that I'm okay.

3/ As East Libya is largely forgotten by int media, a bit of context:

Benghazi was center of Libyan uprising in 2011. After Gaddafi’s fall, extremists took advantage of the chaos.

From 2012-2014 Al-Qaeda +ISIS linked groups started reign of terror in Benghazi +Derna.
