Somewhere Up Yonder Late Sen. Robert Byrd is Confused

Reminder: Sen Byrd was a Democratic Senator from West Virginia. He was the longest serving Senator in the U.S. history (51 years). When Obama was elected, Sen Byrd was still in the Senate. 1/
Just 6 years before he ran for Congress, Sen. Byrd wrote a letter to a KKK Grand Wizard stating, "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia and in every state in the nation."

Democratic Party coddled people like Sen Byrd for way too long when it served their purpose. Neither party is blameless in this, but only one party is aided and abetted in its hypocrisy on racial opportunism by the liberal mainstream media. Hold everyone equally accountable. 3/x

2. It is only natural that whatever a society holds to be its highest value tends to displace everything else in good time. So we must be extremely careful about what we want our highest value to be.
3. In ancient Greece for a time, beauty was held as the highest value in society. You may think that sounds innocuous enough, but do you know what the consequence was. As a consequence, it became acceptable to leave ugly babies on a rock where they could be eaten by buzzards.

You might think these quotes are fake. They are not. And such is the human condition. People even in the highest stations in life are a mixture of the good, the bad, and the ugly.
2. While there is no question about Harry Truman's racist prejudices, it is also undeniable that he rose above his prejudices in policies he pursued. This is why I insist on judging political leaders by their actions and policies than by their words and decades old behavior.
3. Let us look at Harry S. Truman beyond his racial prejudices. As a trivia question, what do you think Harry Truman's middle initial S stands for? If you don't already know, you will never be able to guess, because of the misleading period after the S.

2. Wrote this thread almost 2 years ago, just 6 weeks after Trump's inauguration. Everything that has come to light since then has only vindicated my theory. If one looks at facts clinically and objectively, truth reveals itself easily, most of the time.
3. The thing to keep in mind about my above thread is that I wrote it when I was still skeptical about Trump presidency. Many "Trump supporters" were of course declaring him innocent, but I have never been a "Trump supporter" in the way that term is (perhaps incorrectly) used.

#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.
