Supposed mental health advocate Russ Pitts (of Take This) tells a woman who's suffered some of the most horrific public abuse of the last decade to just get over it. Great compassion and advocacy there, dude.
(Lest anyone argue that this was one moment of frustration on his part or something, he spent a good long while being snide to people who were telling him that this was not a good thing to say, most of them pretty politely.)
And in case he deletes it, here it is in screenshot form.
Also for posterity:
Just to reiterate: GG began as a harassment/stalking/domestic abuse campaign against Zoe by a bitter ex. The men who began it knew it was built on lies, and knew it was an excuse to harass a female game dev, and came up with "ethics" as a screen for doing it.
There are only two "sides" here. One is that it was okay to deploy a massive harassment mob against a female game dev (and then against multiple other marginalized devs and journalists) because she's your ex, and the other is that it isn't.
Whether or not you personally like Zoe is irrelevant to this principle. And any attempt to turn it into a referendum on Zoe personally is to feed into the idea that it's only wrong to mob-harass someone and threaten their life if you approve of them.
Which is why the "I'm not on the side of the harassers, just not on yours" comment is nonsensical. It's not about being on ANY individual's side. It's about "this is wrong" versus "this is okay as long as I dislike the target."
