so this is fascinating. "expanding walls of light" were spotted in areas associated with soviet icbm tests in the '80s. supposition is that it was some attempt to blind or confuse early warning satellites: thedrive.com/the-war-zone/2…
the thing of it is, an extremely well-instrumented aircraft monitoring the tests didn't notice any effects from the wall (or dome) of light. so it's very hard to imagine this was a successful system, if that was its goal
superpowers have been experimenting with ways of blinding satellites since satellites first arrived in orbit. the easiest way, of course, is to just shoot them down, which was "successfully" tested 60 years ago: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explorer_6
lasers are another way. if you know where the sats are, and you've got a powerful enough source on the ground, you can fry optical sensors. there is speculation such systems have been tested in even the last five years: deepbluehorizon.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-ne…
and these days, of course, you can magically inject the enemy's hardware with malicious code--at least, that's how it works in the movies.

anyway, who knows what the "dome of light" was. it was clearly something associated with missile launches, but beyond that....
oh, one more thing. ain't no man-made device making "gravity waves." supermassive objects do that, and if there were a supermassive object on earth somewhere, you'd briefly know it in the milliseconds it took us all to be crushed into oblivion
