My assessment, fwiw, is that the EU and May will announce something at the end of the month - probably a codicil promising a five year legally-enshrined comprehensive review of the backstop.
Both sides just want to do it late enough so that MPs are bounced into it for fear of no-deal. This is all theatre. Or rather, the absence of theatre. It is a planned emptiness so that we're faced with her tepid salad of shite or the abyss.
And MPs - particularly moderates in Cabinet - are playing into it. The idea that they can afford to wait until later in the month for whatever 'result' she gets is laughable.
The time to prevent this course is now. It is simply cowardice to do anything else.
