The actual reducing CO₂ emissions because of climate change, of which electricity generation is the (most) important but not only factor. And a bunch of other things that are related but don't need to be part of the same bill ultimately.1/x

In summer, solar can peak up at ~9/10GW only to drop to zero in the late afternoon just as demand picks up. Storage would need to be ~15GWh just to handle that part. 4/x

@JadeRhinos @Proverbs1_7 @WoundedLiberal @brianefallon @AOC Gas handles that in reality, both in-state & from places like Arizona. Bottomline is that a solar, wind & gas system comes in ~300gCO₂/kWh; which is not good enough for climate change.
And California is scheduled to shut its last nuclear plant, making the task harder. 5/x

And they protest gas plants & fracking, but it doesn't make for good optics when *their* activism makes it necessary for new gas plants to replace Indian Pt. 6/x
