2/15/59 at 6 pm on WNEW's "Sunday Playhouse.'' Curtis Bernhardt's 1936 British musical, which reportedly had been first offered to Cary Grant and Bette Davis by its producer, made NY TV debut 12/11/44 on WNBT.
US TV debut 2/15/64 from 9 to 11 on "NBC Saturday Night at the Movies.'' Filmed on location in NYC, Ritt's gritty 1957 feature bow was adapted from Robert Mulligan's TV production with Poitier. Cassavetes, Warden and Dee replaced Don Murray, Martin Balsam and Hilda Simms.
NY TV debut 2/15/64 at 11:20 pm on WCBS' "The Late Show.'' 1951 adventure was broadcast in black and white, followed by THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU (1944) at 1:20 am, PACIFIC ADVENTURE (1946) at 3:15 and ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT (1930) at 5:05 on "The Late Late Show I-III.''
2/15/69 from 2:30 to 4 pm on WOR. Third and final (1938) offshoot from Warners' "Dead End Kids'' series without any of the original actors, subsequently repackaged by Universal as "The Dead End Kids and Little Tough Guys'' when they became available.
2/15/74 from 8:30 to 9:30 pm on Sterling Manhattan Cable's Channel 10. Prescient 1930 two-reeler starring Andy Clyde, Ann Christy and Nick Stuart was packaged with Fatty Arbuckle's BRIDGE WIVES (1932, Al St. John) and DOGGONE BABIES (1934, Ernest Truex). All public domain.
2/15/79 at 4:42 am on WCBS' "Late Late Show.'' Independently produced 1956 western in "spectacular Pathe color,'' distributed by Allied Artists, made NY TV debut 10/2/62 on WABC's "Night Show.''
