Every President's Day for the last 19 years I spend the day learning about a different President, in order. This year, America's sexiest president: Rutherford B. Hayes. 
Rutherford was raised by a single mother and his wife was the first First Lady to go to college. She was a feminist and abolitionist and the luckiest woman in the world.
There should be a rom com about when Rutherford and his wife fell in love. They were both in the same wedding party and he found a ring in the wedding cake and gave it to her. She gave it back when he proposed and he wore it until the day he died.
These two were head over heals in love with each other. Understandably! Look at them.
He had morals. He defended fugitive slaves, mentored future Prez and BFF McKinley, and founded schools, libraries, and scholarships. He helped W.E.B.DuBois get started in his career.
His presidency was most noted for him losing the popular vote but winning the electoral college. This meant that people called him "Rutherfraud" and "His Fraudulency."Meanies!
A little girl in Paraguay once woke up from a coma and said her only wish was to visit the Rutherford B. Hayes library. ME TOO, LITTLE GIRL, ME TOO.
