2/26/64 at 11:20 pm on WCBS' "The Late Show.'' Hitchcock's 1950 thriller, his first shot in England since the war, made NY TV debut Friday 1/11/63 on Channel 2 during newspaper strike. By 10/27/70 it was playing on WOR's "Million Dollar Movie,'' which had abandoned 7-day format.
9/26/69 from 9:30 to 11 am on WNEW. Many of UA's post-1950 TV titles hit TV ahead of the majors. Karlson's hard-hitting 1953 noir made NY TV debut 12/5/57 on WRCA's "Movie 4.''
9/26/74 at 11:30 pm on WNET. Channel 13's "Dream Week'' programming included a bunch of silent shorts licensed from Paul Killiam, as well as a single episode of the Pearl White serial THE EXPLOITS OF ELAINE (1914).
9/26/79 from 1 to 3 pm on WOR's "Movie 9.'' The fourth "RKO library" title to premiere on "Million Dollar Movie'' (4/02/56), the best (1946) of O'Brien's RKO period originally had its complex 93 minute-plot trimmed to fit then-standard 90-minute time slots for its one-week run.
