In the last 3 weeks on the HILO BOOK TOUR I have spoken to at least 3,000 school children. I can tell you the following:
1. Kids are awesome.
2. Explaining the expression, “The tip of the iceberg” requires visual aids, but worth the effort.

3. Girls and boys say “Awww” to the exact same things.
4. Saying the word “butt” in any context gets a laugh.
5. Very few children know the story of KING KONG. (I put in a lot of work to rectify this. You’re welcome)

6. Regardless of their “economic bracket“ I’m constantly reminded that kids are basically the same. They laugh at the same jokes. They ask the same questions. They want to tell you the same things.
And they just want to be happy.
(Call this lefty or pollyanna - I don’t care.)

I’m ridiculously lucky. My job is pretty much to entertain people and make them happy. And most of the people happen to be kids.

It’s amazing.
I am grateful.
And on this last official day of the HILO BOOK 5 tour—
Thank you to everyone who invited me to come speak.

(And YES. I make the same stupid face for most of my pictures.
And wear nearly the same outfit on the entire book tour. )
