2. The aforementioned "solutions", presented in tandem w/ the climate emergency campaign unleashed last fall, swiftly inundating our collective psyches – have been brought to you by the ruling class (World Bank, WEF, European Commission, etc.) & the NGOs that serve capital.
3. This is nothing to do with concern over the climate nor the environment. This is about propelling economic growth (by any and every means necessary) – to save (then expand) the capitalist economic system that is failing - and nothing more.

Man 1: It’s warm today...I bet they’ll say it’s Global Warming.

Man 2: Well you know they call it “climate change” now...but it’s the same thing.
M1: of course, everyone knows the climate is changing (in a scornful tone)

M2, nodding: it’s just a question of WHY.

M1: exactly. Everyone knows we’re getting warmer since the last ice age.
M2: when it’s all just an excuse to make all these changes it will cost a lot of money.

M1: that’s right, that thing they call the Paris agreement...it’s just an excuse.

M2: that’s right!

Apple may want governments to move faster on #climate, but its presence here in Congress doesn’t contribute to that result.

Leaving @USChamber was a good first step, but until recently, its other trade group @TechNetUpdate didn’t even name climate or clean energy as priorities.

Many other leading companies still support muscle-bound lobbying groups like the @USChamber and @ShopFloorNAM, which are inveterate opponents in Congress of climate action, often contrary to their members’ views.

Today, @AOC & @EdMarkey released a Congressional Resolution calling for a #GreenNewDeal, "a 10-year plan to mobilize every aspect of American society at a scale not seen since World War 2 to achieve net-zero greenhouse emissions and create economic prosperity for all." My take...

I commend @AOC, @EdMarkey & #GreenNewDeal co-sponsors for putting the urgent need to confront #climatechange with an ambitious clean energy mobilization on the top of the political agenda. This is an urgent threat. Confronting it is a real opportunity for economic renewal.
