1) #Brexit Facts that shouldn't need stating
It's ridiculous that this has to be repeated, and even more ridiculous that our Media seem genuinely incapable of stating these facts, but the brexit paradox is very, very simple to articulate in 5 or so statements - thread

a) If you want to have different trade positions (tariffs, regulations, quotas, whatever) either side of a border - *you have to have a border*
The backstop is needed because the reality is there is no answer to "global Britain & new trade deals" and the Irish border

b) There will *never* be a majority of support for any #Brexit deal, not even among leavers - hard Brexit, Soft Brexit and May's half way fudge are all fundamentally opposed to each other & the Leave vote is split amongst them. No Brexit proposition can ever be popular

c) There will *never* be a #Brexit deal that is "jobs first"/"a better deal" or any other variation - all possible Brexit deals will make the country a little to a lot poorer for the foreseeable future. Any MP supporting any Brexit deal of any stripe knows this, or should do

d) The vote will *always* be poisoned. The concerns about Russian state intervention, dirty money, the tactics of the Leave campaign, overspending will never go away - and every hit that Brexit has will reopen the wound. The vote is soiled, deeply suspect, and will always be so

e) Finally, "you lost, get over it" *is not enough* - you cannot set the destiny of a country for the next 40 years based on one narrow vote at one point in time. There has to be more - some benefit, something tangible - not simply an opinion poll which cannot be questioned

These are the simple facts - #Brexit is poisoned, suspect, unsafe and will never be popular - and there are no magic answers, not even stamping your feet and saying "we'll just leave anyway" is an answer

It cannot be solved, it needs putting out of it's misery
