Watching “The 2000’s” on Netflix reminded me how many of the same politicians have been in power since I’ve been in high school (or longer). Same faces saying the same things in the same forums. McConnell. Grassley. Biden. Pelosi. Bernie. Schumer. Tired.
They had fresh face *Senator* Obama giving speeches with Bernie in the background looking the damn same, Pelosi was still speaker and McConnell still McConnelling as he’s been doing apparently since the beginning of time.
I think people underestimate how ridiculous it is to young people seeing the same politicians in same positions for so long. Takes the wind out of the whole franchise. I’m glad there are new faces in Congress who are driving the energy and conversation because we need change.
And yes we absolutely need term limits because there’s no justification for this. There are way too many qualified and new perspectives to have the same people in power for 30-40 years.
