I really struggle with why journalists are not willing to name other journalists who are propagating hate. Who else will? Is it left to Muslims to fight this on our own? We deserve your support.

As mentioned here, @Freedland has been a consistent ally and it is possible lawyers prevented the naming of individuals at this time.

Let's hope that does not prevent the very legitimate criticism of the hate that many of these publications propagate.

Some people doubt the scale of Islamophobia in the media, claim it is limited to certain views of Katie Hopkins, Rod Liddle and Melanie Phillips, and believe the far-right attitudes come from extreme rather than mainstream sources. This thread aims to challenge such assumptions.
There are a plethora of false, racist or misleading front pagers that have helped create this deeply worrying "othering" of Muslims. A small selection is here but many more exist. This thread, however, will focus on the less well known cases, to demonstrate the scale of the issue
Firstly, it is mainstream media reporting about Muslim communities that is contributing to an atmosphere of rising hostility towards Muslims in Britain, according to a University of Cambridge/ESRC Roundtable held at the House of Lords.

ICYMI: Rod Liddle was condemned for encouraging British Islamists to ‘blow themselves up’ in Tower Hamlets. He belittled the ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims, thought there was not enough Islamophobia in the Tory party...etc. etc.

ICYMI: BBC Question Time outrageously chose to not have a single question after the Finsbury Park terrorist attack. Apparently terrorism against Muslims didn't matter enough to them. Finsbury Park Mosque said that the "BBC failed us & the country"

Lord Ahmad, thank you for your strong statement on #Islamophobia in the Conservative Party.

Are you aware the problem extends far beyond the 14 suspensions? There are many MPs, councillors, mayors and members whose Islamophobic actions have not been acted upon.
In addition, evidence suggests that suspensions may be occurring to give the pretence of "swift action" when instead the driver appears to be what works best for the PR of the Party.
Let's start with MPs & broader issues that have been ignored despite being raised for years - whether from @MuslimCouncil, Baroness @SayeedaWarsi or others

e.g. Zac Goldsmith, Bob Blackman, Nadine Dorries, Boris Johnson etc. - no lack of evidence

Both are claims which have to be proven, but none of all of them can prove it, so they continue sinking in loop of cyclone dilemma which can’t stop.
