The ungratefulness of Nigerian Medical Professionals

Disclaimer: Apologies to my Doctor friends. This is not personal.

A thread
The average Nigerian doctor thinks he is doing us a favour by staying in this country and treating us. He has this moral high ground that he is doing the Lord’s work while still being the highest paid professional in the country. They always threaten to leave this country
The most favourite destinations for Nigerian doctors are the US, UK or Canada. This is the average cost of medical degree in these countries. My dear Nigerian Dr, how much did your medical degree cost you?
Me that school in northern Nigeria, I’m sure the tuition for medical degree medical in those 6 years is not up to $1000 in UDUS, ABU and BUK. Plus medical students get paid by their state governments just for studying medicine.
Yes, Drs are comparatively underpaid in Nigeria, but so does any other professional. And if you compare yourself with the US Dr, he spends alot of his years working his ass off to pay student loans, while you paid peanuts for your degree.
And you talk about the practice, Yes practice abroad is more advanced, but this is Nigeria, everything is messed up, not just healthcare. And at Nigerian standards, you guys are better off that all other professionals like engineers, lawyers or architects.
So please, drop this this moral high ground. You are not doing us any favours by staying here and treating us. If you want to leave, please quietly leave. We will not die till our time arrive.
