To offer a sense of scale about this (and @BernieSanders $5.9M in first 24 hours): it’s about a quarter of what @BarackObama raised in his first *quarter* as a candidate in ‘07.

And that included fundraisers not just online contributions.

Beto $ was from all 50 states and, as w his Senate race, didn’t. include PACs. But his folks aren’t saying what average contribution was or how many total donors gave.

Important Qs in re: how much more he can come back to people thru cycle.

Biggest $ question for Beto out of gate was: how much of his Senate cash was just national liberal enthusiasm for a charismatic guy running against a senator they loathed.
This haul indicates it was bigger than that. But will the $ keep coming if he slips, others outshine?
