I understand a group cabinet ministers will go to see the PM tmrw AM to demand she rules out a long extension. Requests have also gone in for her to appear before the 1922 at 5pm. I’m told anger among Brexiters has spilled over & PM will be told they’ll not tolerate a long delay.
I’m told by two Tory sources that if the PM doesn’t agree to rule out a long Brexit extension then she will be “absolutely hammered” in front of the 1922 committee. I’m also told one Tory MP is preparing to ask the PM to resign during PMQs if she refuses to rule out a long delay.
There was “open revolt in the tea rooms” today according to Tory MPs, “from people you would not expect.” One MP says “the plates are shifting. Total breakdown between No10 and the Parliamentary party.” Another says “if she doesn’t agree to this then she is gone.”
On the delegation requesting to see the PM in the morning - I’m told it’s the remaining Brexiters in the cabinet, plus some remainers, strongly urged on by junior ministers and govt whips who have “had enough”.
This is now open revolt. Tory MPs who voted FOR her deal are tonight saying they want Theresa May gone. The anger among Brexiters is palpable at the prospect of a long Brexit delay. “She won’t survive the 1922 committee if she refuses to rule it out. She’ll be finished.”
NEW: Senior govt source says PM will not be asking the EU for a long extension to Brexit. 
The risk of leaving the EU without a deal is now very, very real.
It’s been said many times before, but it really is hard to see how this can continue. The Brexiters in cabinet won’t tolerate a long delay, the Remainers won’t tolerate a no deal. Parliament voted for an extension and against no deal but hasn’t said clearly what it wants instead.
