Ethereum EIP seeks 20% developers’ reward akin to Zcash.

In the age of “fair launches” that forgot to pay developers + Moloch attempts to entice donations, it’s clear that people finally get that paying miners is not enough for long term sustainability of open-sourced projects.
Incentive protocols must pay each type of worker to ensure long-term sustainability.
...and now we have come full circle recreating society and governance on the blockchain with debates on taxes vs free market investment and donations.
Meanwhile, over at Square @jack is hiring devs to work full time on bitcoin open-sourced software! 🤘

Pro Tip: When signing a letter on co. letterhead but don't want to be associated w/ the statements, stand by the statements, or be liable to a 3rd party:

1-Do not print your name;
2-Do not legibly sign your name;
3-Write for ambiguity; and
4-Address to 1 person or no one.
:2: As we can see in Exhibit A and Exhibit B, the Tether Bank letter is
(a) signed by an unknown individual;
(b) intentionally ambiguous in the second paragraph; and
(c) addressed to Tether only.
:3: Interestingly, 99.99% of law firm opinion letters / statements are not signed by an individual and addressed to no one or just the client.

The letters are signed as follows:

Handwritten: "Law Firm Name"
Typed: "Law Firm Name"

None thought they needed a token or a blockchain given they were securitizing off-line assets and cash-flows.

#Ethereum is about to undergo the #Thirdening - a reduction in issuance of new $ETH to miners from 3 ETH/block to 2 ETH/block, or a reduction of 33%. It will happen at block 7,080,000 as part of the Constantinople hard fork, which is estimated to be January 16th.
That's a bit like the US Federal Reserve saying, "we're about to reduce the number of new dollars we print next year by 33%." This is one step along the way to #Ethereum's eventual plan to have <1% annual issuance, as Proof of Stake and Serenity roll out. #Thirdening
When an asset's supply goes down (fewer miners selling newly-mined $ETH), assuming demand is the same (or higher), prices trend up. This is obvious when looking at $BTC price mapped against the #halvening, a similar event in $BTC where block reward halves, next one is May 2020.

- It wasn't. In fact, we see vibrant experimentation and development in Monero.

#Ethereum miners are starting to realize the value of their $ETH doesn't come from transactions. 1/
2/ In fact, including everything into the current state and/or archival blockchain, increases miners' cost.

The connection they might have made is all the dapps and other silly stuff isn't where the value comes from, the value comes from marketing.
3/ The success of ethereum's marketing is only partly correlated w/ the number of transactions. There needs to be enough volume to support the narrative, but not too much to make it extremely hard to stay synced.

2/ #Ethereum's softness also clear in the context of the top 10. In stark contrast to how this bear market started, where $ETH was one of the most resilient assets.
3/ To be fair, #Ethereum is still down less from its all-time high than its aforementioned "next gen" competitors.
