His reply encouraged MPs to make use of this power. Barely even bothered to conceal it.
On the Today programme this morning (2:37:50), Anna Soubry indicated that Labour MP Alison McGovern tabling an SO24 emergency debate on this today bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…
There really is no time to waste. But there is nothing to stop MPs pushing back on this before that letter is even published.

Please do watch this. There are moments that'll break your heart, but you'll come away much better informed about what's going on in this country.
It's hard to really express the despair you feel when people who have been utterly destroyed by Tory policies back a Tory policy like Brexit to turn it around.
But you can't answer that question without hearing it. Remain must be grounded in turning things around for people like this, or it's nothing.

Very positive. If May deal defeated, we can extend to April 12 - MPs then have a chance to come up with a plan, propose it, and get a longer extension, as long as we take part in European elections.
This is as good a result as we could possibly have asked for and, honestly, EU being more patient then you'd expect.
If MPs can now take control under a form of the Benn amendment next week, there is still a way out of this godforsaken mess.

3/ What about a Permanent Customs Union? This gets closer to Labour's policy (although without the control over trade deals 🦄 bit).

Last year an amendment on a customs union was *just* defeated with some err mistakes over pairing helping the Government.

My prediction:
Parliament will reject the deal for the reasons explained in my pinned tweet. That leaves us with no-deal in December. The Tory Party leadership won't ever support a #PeoplesVote.
But the Tory Party's MPs will, purely to save the party's reputation from no-deal.
My main concern is that the Good Friday Agreement ties the government to making a deal that keeps us in the Single Market and Customs Union permanently. Because there will be those arguing that that meets Labour's 6 tests. But that's a Brexit that does nothing but #GiveUpControl
But allow me to speak plainly...
That would be f**** stupid!
The only reason Parliament has been pursing a Brexit its MPs knows is harmful has been to respect the democratic wishes of 2016 voters. So to accept a deal that leaves us LESS sovereign would DEFEAT THE WHOLE. POINT!

It took Cabinet 18 months to agree on what Brexit should look like. Entire government has been consumed with Brexit and held hostage by hardline Brexiteers in the Tory party
Cabinet agreed on a soft-ish Brexit last weekend (some freedom of movement and goods). Also soft is Overton Window stuff as 2 years ago, we’d have labelled the plan extreme and hardline
