The enduring durability of the Solyndra narrative is a reason to be a little skeptical about the argument that a pure energy research funding package as a solution to climate change would be more politically viable than the Green New Deal framework.
There will always be a funding recipient that fails, and Republicans and conservative media will fixate on it and turn it into an election argument and a reason to repeal the package.
