It's not just that Remainers are treated as if they do not exist. They're treated as if they should not exist. This manner of response, whatever the content of the policy, completely inappropriate for a petition signed by nearly 10% of the population.
Exactly the same with Gardiner on Today just now. Labour members are overwhelmingly Remain. They pushed for a referendum at conference. His response is to discuss the Kyle amendment and say it's not "a Remain party".
It is clear, from the petition and the march, that there is a growing popular movement behind these ideas. It is insane for the political class to treat them so dismissively.

Truly terrible to try and separate withdrawal agreement from political declaration.
The backstop constitutes the most significant self-imposed downgrading of this country's status in its lifetime. Without the political declaration, you cannot assess how likely it is to come into force.
The withdrawal agreement simply cannot be evaluated on its own.

People who said a second referendum would damage public trust in politics are now signing up to something they think will turn the UK into a slave state because it might get rid of a political rival.
"I declare the voting period open and I suspend the House accordingly for that period."
Ah, no. I'm told they'll actually be counted earlier. But then they debate and vote on the statutory instrument delaying Brexit day until 9pm. And then they announce.

Here we go, marketing conference thread!

Found an interesting freelancer (graphic design) who charges a flat monthly fee to be a "virtual employee". The fee is less than in-house or agency, and you can treat her like an in-house talent, asking for designs when you need them.
80% of content consumed online comes from algorithmic recommendations. Not sure how I feel about that, or what to even do about it, but there it is.
You should maximise what's working for you in terms of digital advertising NOW because digital platforms can change overnight - what works today may not even exist tomorrow.

The replace-libraries-with-Amazon thing is such a fascinating microcosm of the wretchedness of our current take culture.
First some hapless, unheard-of practitioner of the dismal science has, as is his discipline's wont, a very rational and logical epiphany about the market inefficiency of an institution whose very purpose is to provide a service outside the market.
In times of yore the take would have been read by a few other academics, or perhaps raised some eyebrows in a regional paper, and in either case been promptly forgotten.

Happy to oblige! The biggest reason that a few frameworks dominate the landscape is probably straightforward inertia. Most devs (those of use who chat about this stuff on Twitter are NOT representative) don't want to investigate and learn alternatives; they have better things 1/
to do, and engineering PMs aren't picking the 'best' technology, they're picking the safe one that means they'll be able to hire some poor sap to maintain everything a couple of years down the line. Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM. These dynamics favour incumbents. 2/
So does the cacophony of options. Why do tech meetups always serve pepperoni pizza, even though almost no-one would actually *choose* it given alternatives? Because it's something that very few people will object to. It gets the job done — it's 'good enough'. 3/
