It's not just that Remainers are treated as if they do not exist. They're treated as if they should not exist. This manner of response, whatever the content of the policy, completely inappropriate for a petition signed by nearly 10% of the population.
Exactly the same with Gardiner on Today just now. Labour members are overwhelmingly Remain. They pushed for a referendum at conference. His response is to discuss the Kyle amendment and say it's not "a Remain party".
It is clear, from the petition and the march, that there is a growing popular movement behind these ideas. It is insane for the political class to treat them so dismissively.
