the @LDSchurch policy change is a great thing, but not for the reasons some of the LDS Twitter are claiming.

Children who grow up in these homes are going to instinctively, fundamentally and acutely know that their home and family situations are not the natural order of things
among the various conflicting thoughts and feelings they are likely to have with these realizations, there is the chance that as they reflect upon their lives, there was someone there telling affirming what their spirits understand...
That we are eternal sons and daughters of eternal Heavenly parents. That the Family is ordained of God, with men and women each filling unique and necessary roles, and that children are entitled to be raised in homes respecting this eternal order...
The hard work and dedication of ministering brothers and sisters, young mens and young womens leaders, and Bishops will ring in their memories as they begin to search for the things they were denied by their parents' selfish social experiments.
They will remember that there was a place, a people and a doctrine that, while at the time stood in stark contrast to what they were being taught at home, has come to satisfy the soul yearning for the peace of "Home".
