1)Timing in politics is everything. JWR stated FN issues propelled her into politics. JWR worked years building a framework for reconciliation & PMJT tasked JWR to work with Minister Bennett. MW defended Minister Bennett in his SNCL testimony & media/opposition questioned why1/11
2) It has everything to do with JWR's approach to SNCL. The 'rejection' of JWR's framework & JWRs accelerated timeline for implementation by PMO/CB & FN Leadership was a blow to JWR's core. The apparent conflicts with FN Leadership & CB meant JWR was asked to take a step back2/11
3) JWR's impatience & sense of entitlement to take over FN Reconciliation are the key reasons why JWR stonewalled re: SNCL. In political terms: It was a classic tit for tat. JWR's quick 'final' decision on SNCL, refusal to consult, including referral to outside council,3/11
4) ...refusal to provide documentation like Section 13 or report on impacts are all evidence of JWR's intragenance. Remember discussions with PMO(09/17) & GB( Chateau Laurier) were always dominated by 'other issues' than SNCL. The two issues became inextricably linked. 4/11
5) In a recent interview, JWR claimed that GB had not pressured her on SNCL. GB had repeatedly stated he had not pressured JWR. Why then implicate GB & ask GB be fired? My theory is GB decided & informed JWR that CB alone would be tasked with FN Reconciliation. 5/11
6) Why did MW testify that his lawyer advised him that MW should not comment on JWR's 'state of mind' ie motivation behind her actions on SNCL? Answer: The same reason JWR claimed that her removal from MOJAG would impact FN Reconciliation. Why ask for MW's firing?6/11
7) Both GB & MW were seen as impediments to her involvement in FN Reconciliation & responsible for offering JWR the Indigenous Ministry. Most likely, JWR was told she could have a role in FN Reconciliation, but not as MOJAG. 7/11
8) PMO believed the linkage of the SNCL decision & JWRs role in FN Reconciliation was inappropriate & undermined good governance/Rule of Law. The linkage had to be broken. When JWR refused the Indigenous Ministry & the potential role in negotiations, JWR was shocked ...8/11
9)...when she was shuffled to VA. Her resignation from cabinet when further negotiations to prevent her resignation fell thru was inevitable since she was completely frozen out of FN Reconciliation. 9/11
10) This scenario I believe explains JP's inexplicable alliance with JWR that underlies the false SNCL narrative. JP is committed to FN Reconciliation & supported JWR's involvement. It is an apology to JWR for freezing her out of FN Reconciliation that was JP's issue. 10/11
11) To conclude, this "loss of trust" was related to FN Reconciliation. The SNCL decision was used as a cudgel. JWR wanted to take control over FN Reconciliation at any cost. JWR was willing to compromise the Rule of Law, PM, Liberals' reelection & thereby put everything at risk.
