1/ Well, after two days of hard work, I finally slept enough and able calmly express my thoughts. A small twitterstorm about the past hackathon @OdysseyHack.
. @OdysseyHack is the best hackathon I've ever been to or participated in (I've been to many hackathons). Not only because it is really big - 100 teams, but also because it was organized impressively.
3/ Unlike many other blockchain hackathons @OdysseyHack is not only about the technology itself but mostly about solving real-world problems. Some of them you can solve without blockchain at all and track owners will ask you why you didn't use blockchain here.
What @OdysseyHack teaches all teams - your solution should be a complete product that solves the problem of a user, the existing not imaginary problem of a user.
5/ They provide you the impact canvas and slightly push to work on it. The canvas can be very useful not only at hackathon time but when you work on your startup.
6/ Talking about teams on the hackathon, they are really really good! I didn't see any unmotivated or unprofessional.
At the same time some teams are startups that have long been working on the tracks' problem for a long time and they have advantages over the rest.
7/ We worked on the track "Future of Cargo Insurance" from @tvmnl. The idea of the track was to build an open protocol for Cargo Insurance industry.
8/ Blockchain makes a huge sense in this problem, because allows to start sharing data between companies (carriers, suppliers, insurance companies).
9/ We have built a protocol using @wavesplatform blockchain and implemented supply flow and analytics on top of the data. Our product incentivises carriers, truck drivers and suppliers to share data by showing them points of growth (we call it "insights engine")
10/ We didn't win our track, but we have found another interesting application of blockchain as a technology and many interesting ideas. Many thanks to all of @tvmnl team for their patience, support and help during the hackathon.
11/ the last, but not the least, congratulations to @Tradisys team and their team captain @Sashka_Waves, they had to change their initial idea on the first day, worked really hard on the new idea and deserved to win on their track!
