Black folks have been fighting American authoritarianism a lot longer than white folks have. Let’s make sure that when we recover our democracy from Trump, we actively dismantle, not just lament and ignore, dangerous caste systems of race and gender and inherited mass wealth.
As long as we leave those systems intact, we will remain vulnerable to another Trump and another outside attack that exploits our unaddressed biases.
And also, caste systems are bad. And can only be broken down with the concerted effort of those who hold the upper caste position. But you knew this already.
