When analog 1G wireless was first being replaced by digital 2G wireless mobile operators increased their network capacity. When operators tried to charge more customers said: "How does this 2G benefit me?" Until new services were developed it didn't, and the price didn't rise.
Content creators are streaming their own content since having the telemetry about customers is key to their survival. I wrote about that here: google.com/amp/s/25iq.com… Customers will get frustrated by multiple streaming services but the providers can't give up telemetry data.
