April was 🔥. Another month, another #openstartup report.

As of April 22, I officially make more money on the side then at my job. 🤯

Things to focus on for April: Funnel tracking. More content. More features. Courses.
I did some content marketing efforts this month (my organic clicks were starting to dip).

I wrote two articles:

- closet.tools/poshmark-tips
- closet.tools/poshmark-30-mi…

The second one surprised me 👇
I wrote and published it just 5 days ago. I was targeting a *very easy* [0 ahrefs difficulty level] 480 searches/month keyword → "poshmark 30 minute method".

I've attached some screenshots of what happened.

Essentially, it ranked in the top 10 that SAME DAY. #3 today.
I will for-sure be tapping into content marketing more. Ahrefs makes it too easy to find good terms to rank for.

It's just a matter of putting in the effort and writing the content.

I spent about an hour writing the Poshmark 30 Minute Method post. Imagine if I did that daily.
I've been running FB ads most of the month of April. I've just been pushing them to the articles I have written.

After a few weeks I realized I have no idea whether or not those pages perform well. This month I will get my tracking down so I know whether my ads are profitable.
To know that your ads are profitable, you just have to spend less than the Lifetime Value of a customer (LTV) to acquire a new customer.
My LTV is roughly $112. It takes roughly 3 free trials for one to convert on my app, so I can spend $35 per free trial.

I pay $0.37 per click. So all I need to do is make sure I get at least one free trial every 100 clicks to my article.
I made a community for my customers! This has been a lot of fun. I kicked it off with an AMA.

Got lots of emails saying the AMA was great. Definitely going to keep doing that.

It's hosted on @withspectrum you can check it out here: closet.tools/community
Some things that I wrote in April on my blog:

- unindie.com/choices/
- unindie.com/who-i-want-to-…

A very introspective month. I usually get like that around my birthday.
I am planning on starting the Niche selection and product development article soon. I have some courses to get through these next couple of weeks.

I'll be writing it, slowly but surely!

I'm excited about May, and I hope this thread inspires someone to get out there and make something.

What do you have planned for this month?
