In February, Barr directed Mueller’s team to prepare the final report with suggested redactions so it could be released quickly. The report was submitted raw, no redactions. So Barr prepared his own letter with accurate summaries of the key conclusions...

The next day, Team Mueller found its thick black pen. Mueller submitted summaries of his own “marked with redactions.” But it was too late. Mueller wrote another “snitty” letter complaining about the public’s “misunderstanding” of his report. Too bad. amgreatness.com/2019/05/01/its…
So they leaked their complaints to the NYT and WashPo. They thought Barr would capitulate to their demands, but he recognized the game they were playing. And after March 22, it didn’t matter because the report was, yes, Barr’s “baby.”
