I did some analysis on the impact of the excise duty hike on petrol & diesel.

Net Revenues

UPA-II - 1.91 Lakh Cr
NDA-II - 10.12 Lakh Cr

Now every household gave an additional ₹ 33,084 to Modi.

Where did the money go? It didn't reach the farmers either. (1/3)

Last week, I shared this thread on the vegetable price crash. Some Modi fans commented that Modi indeed reduced inflation by crashing the food prices.

1. Farmers are facing deflation (negative inflation)
2. The middle class is not benefitted

The 33K loss is across 24.8 Cr households. The middle-class owning cars have lost many multiples of this.

Add the additional cost of maintenance with the increase in 18% service tax and 28% GST of spares.

Past few years @RahulGandhi has been saying that "Modi took away money from farmers and gave to Industrialists"

I did some research to find out the truth of his claims and the results are quite shocking!

Look at the wholesale prices of 8 Vegetables for the last 10 years (1/n)
6 out of 8 vegetable prices have crashed since 2014. Except for chillies, all vegetable are selling at lower than 2014 prices.

Onion, Potato, Garlic and Cabbage are at 10-year lowest prices.

Onion: ₹14.5 in 2014, now ₹6.7
Potato: ₹17.6 in 2014, now ₹6.5

Now take a look at the retail prices, you'll find a similar (not same) pattern here.

I did some research on the advertisement spree of Ch. Modi Government in its final two weeks before MCC kicked in.

I took @timesofindia as an example and made a rough estimate of the money government would have spent on ads to show us the invisible VIKAS. (1/6)

I prepared a table after analyzing Times of India e-paper from 23-Feb to 10-Mar. I went through 14 editions. I used standard rates available for each edition for specific pages(front, back, 3rd page, any page).

The total amount I arrived at is ₹134 Cr. Wait, there's more. (2/6)
The govt does not follow ad agency rates. In fact, it is much lower than the standard rates.

In January, govt hiked the ad rates by 25%. By doing a back of the envelope math on DAVP rates, I arrived at govt rates being 1/6th of standard rates. (3/6)

Common man often grudges that Modi govt did not reduce petrol price when crude oil prices were dropping.

1. petrol was deregulated in jun 2010 n diesel in 2014
2. Pls see the attached picture for trend of crude price vs petrol & diesel prices from 2006 to 2016

3. As u can see between 2009 and 2014 crude has climbed up every year however petrol and diesel have not gone up in similar proportion. This difference was met through subsidies.

4. Subsidies r jst anther form of expense fr govt. betwn 2009-14 govt was borrowing 2 keep fuel prices low.
It's lyk takin personal loan (PL) 2 pay housing EMI & believing thy r nt paying loan EMIs at all. Thy nw hv 2 repay PL also. borrowed money hs 2 b repaid sometimes.

Let's first demolish 2008 farm loan waiver claim

1. Total farm loan waiver of UPA for whole of India was 52,280 cr. 2 BJP states UP & MH have together waived more than 66k cr

2. Under 14 Fin Comm, K'taka has got more than 2 lakh cr. Why can't @siddaramaiah waive all farm loans?
Now, true to Congress style, even 2008 loan waiver a scam! CAG audit completely exposed it. The report said,
1. Over 13% of eligible farmers were denied benefits
2. Over 8% ineligible a/c were given full waiver
3. Over 32% of checked accounts had lapses in implementaion.
