Here's 7 simple rules to keep in mind when visiting an acquaintance or new friend you've never visited before.
Avoid the awkward
Have a lovely weekend 😊
Never feel at home at someone else's home until the 3rd visit. I don't care what they say. Not until the 3rd visit Then you will know the norms and customs.

DO NOT JUST OPEN THE FRIDGE and help yourself fwaaa.
It goes like this. I say "Please, help yourself."
You say : Oh no. I'm good really.
Me : Please I insist. Take my last redbull.
You : Oh Okay.
This is how civilization works.

I'm allowed to make fun of the mess. You are meant to only say... It's alright or some passive aggressive stuff like "I like that you didn't go to much trouble."
The message will be well received.

Look, a small token will always be appreciated. Whether dinner party, barbecue, a game... Just pick something to show you understand. " I know you're accommodating me so here. Take this bottle opener!"

Listen, offer to help but you don't really need to. You might end up breaking things or washing them badly or worse, so much better that you show up the host.
Be good at offering. You might never have to do anything.

A good host will tailor the entertainment to your tastes. Don't be a prick and just change things on TV, stereo or God forbid #PS4. (Don't visit people who play Xbox).
They will ask you and give you the controller or remote.

I know you're having a good time. But remember to leave on ⌚ . Prompt goodbyes are 👍🏾
Take hints too. Like when your host starts clearing their throat, closing the curtains, saying they have" work tomorrow" (even on a Saturday)

Let's say you drank too much and slept over. Friend, you can stay for breakfast. Maybe even to late morning but once it comes to lunch... Start your vamoose. Unless they beg you.. Gooo .
