This is a really good thought. And due to their classified nature, we wouldn't (I think) know whether, when or how those briefings were taking place. It does address my puzzlement on why Mueller doesn't just leave, and testify.
He would be testifying in classified process outside an AG's veto power, because it doesn't relate to a prosecution or declination decision.
The question just popped into my mind: "Would those briefings be de-classifiable in an impeachment inquiry?" I don't know the answer. But I hope Amash does accept Tlaib's invitation to co-sponsor a resolution to begin formal inquiry.
