I'm doing a bunch of reading about emotionally unavailable parents, and a bunch of it really resonates, but a bunch of it also doesn't quite. There's a complexifier in my history that was true for several of my friends too – we had music/theatre/sports etc, & we had the internet

my sense is that attachment theory is very fixated on very early childhood – (and I can't argue with how true or untrue that is bc I wasn't really super conscious of what my really-early-childhood was like)

I feel like it underweights the 7-thru-17 years, which IMO are important
