#immigration twitter: I know it’s a holiday weekend but on my mind: anyone interested in a private group discussion about how to identify / photograph potential asylum seekers/ migrants possibly in danger? I’m thinking this is ongoing journalism ethics discussion that is evolving
I’m just gauging initial interest (I don’t want to lead this) but thinking it could be a worthy off the record discussion to have with perhaps some outside experts weighing in and real life journos giving the reality.
It just seems like a lot has changed under Trump/ realities external pressures in CentAm et al and it could be a worthy (though difficult) discussion and it would of course have to be off record to be helpful. Anyway just thinking out loud.
I feel like realistically this is probably fraught for failure given how busy / mad we are but wondering if some outside groups such as @CJR @Poynter could help organize a seminar. I personally think it’s a very difficult space constantly changing.
