I'm in the courtroom today with Bassam Al-Rawi in Halifax. We are hearing final statements on the case from lawyers. Live updates starting now! Background: cbc.ca/news/canada/no…
Al-Rawl, like a surprising number of his fellow taxi-cab drivers in Halifax has been charged with raping a young woman. He no longer resides in Canada, he lives in Germany after being let off on bail. #halifax
For some reason, this seasoned taxi-cab driver from Halifax has enlisted an Arabic translator. Not sure why. She is sitting right next to him and hasn't translated a word.
Further to this, Bassam has been nodding his head after general English statements are made. I think it's reasonable to conclude that he can speak English fine. Translators help with appeals I imagine, eh?
A big part of the case here is that the cab ride took far longer to complete than would reasonably be assumed. The defence lawyer is now saying that because there were stop signs on the route, they extended the time of the journey substantially. Was it rape or was it stop signs?
Defence is saying that because the girl kissed Al-Rawi on the cheek (maybe, if at all), then that is enough to cause her DNA to magically appear on Al-Rawi's lips - in enough quantity to register on a DNA test. Must have been sloppy!
Guess how many words the translator has translated so far?
Defence lawyer just said that, to make themselves more comfortable, most professional taxi drivers will undo the top button of their pants... For comfort.
Oh this is gripping. Defence lawyer saying "how could the cab driver pull the clothes off an unconscious woman? She would have been dead weight, it would have been hard to take the pants off. No way it could have happened" (paraphrased)
We just got back from break. The defendant that needed an Arabic translator was having a conversation with his English speaking lawyer as he walked by the media cameras. That's weird.
Btw rebelinvestigates.com is where you can see the other things I've been covering lately.
Defence is now saying that because the alleged victim had a 20 dollar bill in her hand, she was sober, and that somehow speaks to her inability to be raped. I'm not sure what the logic is here. 🤡🌍
Defence now making the argument that the girls DNA on Al-Rawi's lips could have made it there a whole host of other ways outside of direct kissing. If the judge accepts that, I don't know how anyone can use the presence of DNA as evidence of sexual assault in the future.
Court extended until tomorrow. The defendant made a lot of arguments today about missing evidence, particularly that there was no taxi driver DNA on the complainant, on any surface or orifice. It's weird that the MSM never mentioned that...
There is a weird pattern of Muslim taxi drivers raping young women in Halifax. It's a disturbing trend.

Tonight, I'm going to ask women how safe they feel getting in to cabs in Halifax. Video tomorrow.
As Al-Rawi left court, I followed him and asked him how he feels about his case. He responded in clear English. I think it's safe to say the translator is a smokescreen.
