woah! For years, we've had to deal with Facebook dumping news on Fridays. This Friday is Christmas. First WSJ scoop on DOJ/Google. And now I just did one last check of DC docket and Judge just ordered @AGKarlRacine's Cambridge Analytica case forward. Sorry tech/DC press 😅.
Here is a thread breaking down some of @AGKarlRacine's case which documents much of Facebook's negligence. For those who aren't able to keep up, Facebook's stock dropped 7% on the day this case filed. It has Chancellor, Kogan, etc. 130k docs of discovery.
Sorry make that 140k including this doc which was referenced in the UK proceedings, also. Facebook tried to claim DC didn't have jurisdiction and keep docs sealed. It will be good to shine the light here and get facts.
also I know a lot of press have written the FTC was close to settling with Facebook but I've been doubting since first reports in January. I just don't see how they settle with this case moving forward and California moving into discovery. IMHO.
