1) Any opposition to DC statehood has to justify why Vermont and Wyoming get 2 Senators each while the greater number of American citizens living in DC are deprived of full representation. Merge them into another state, whatever -- but these people pay their taxes.
2) I actually don't care about "let's get 2 more Democratic Senators". Put 'em in Maryland, I don't care. Like my opposition to the Electoral College, it's not a matter of electoral advantage, it's that a corrosive vestige of the 1700's is undermining democratic standards.
3) Mainstream American political imagination is frozen in the 1950's. This is becoming a problem.

1) Well, Senator, @scrowder has been de-monetized (not banned) waging a multi-year war of personal harassment and homophobia against a single person using his followers, while those public personas have been parodying other, more powerful public figures. It's a super easy idea.
2) The game certain figures on the Right are playing where they pretend not to understand how power works nor, apparently, the free market, is growing increasingly tiresome.
3) Leading to what is now becoming an evergreen tweet: Yeah, yeah, everybody loves the free market until it bites them in the ass.

You know fellow white folks, I’m pretty good with the trade-off of not getting a “White Pride Month” but *instead* I get to drive around with pretty much zero chance a cop is going to shoot me.

Same with “Straight Pride Parade”. Like, I’m bummed I don’t get a parade, but there’s also not a nationwide movement financed by Rapture-crazed billionaires trying to strip me of my human rights. So six of one, you know?
